A daughter told her father about her life and said things were so hard for her. It seemed that, as one __1__was gone, a new one appeared. Her father, a cook, took __2__to the kitchen. There is a woman named Atsuko Saeki. When she was a teenager, she dreamed of going to the United States.  Most of what she knew about American   1   was from the textbooks she had read.  “I had a   2   in mind: Daddy watching TV in the living room, Mummy baking cakes and their teenage daughter off to the cinema with her boyfriend.”
