Analysis of the travel behavior of Chinese students in Newcastle
Introduction:
Each year, thousands of Chinese students leave their home to study abroad. According to statistics provided by China’s Ministry of Education, the geographic distribution of China’s current population studying abroad at their expense achieved 109 countries, and with the rapid expansion to the whole world from mainly concentrated in the United States, United Kingdom, and Australia and so on. (Di Fan, 2007) These Chinese students not only contribute to the country’s economy by tuition fees, but also though their business and travel activities. Nowadays, according to the higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA) in China, a large number of Chinese students are willing to make the UK their first choice for international study. With its good reputation and high quality of education, the UK attracts almost 75,000 Chinese students to study and live there. (Tom 2008). Therefore, the UK marketers cannot afford to ignore this tremendous potential market.
