一、Teaching aims:

1、 Be able to understand and say the rhyme.

2、 Be able to understand “Can the monkey …? Yes, it can.

Can you …? Yes, I can. / No, I can’t.

二、Teaching Key points

Can ask and answer: Can you …? / Can the

monkey…?

Teaching aids: courseware pictures headgear rope

三、Teaching steps:

Step1: Warm-up

(1) Greetings

(2) Sing a song “ Ten little rabbits”

(3) T: Can you jump ?

Ss: Yes.

T: Let’s jump !

Ss: Jump,jump,jump (say and do)

T:Wonderful!

Step2: Presentation

(1) Show a rope

T: Can you skip?

Ss: Yes./ No.

T: Today let’s learn “ Lesson 11 Skipping”

Look ! Who are they ?

Ss: Mary, Terry, Jack, Kay and Hello.

T: Good. They have a rope skipping competition. Can Hello skip?

Ss: Yes. / No.

T: Let’s watch. (watch the videos twice)

(2) Answer some questions after watching the videos.

T: Can Hello skip / fly?

Ss: Yes.(引导学生完整回答)

T: Can you fly ?

Ss: No, I can’t.

T: Can you skip?

Ss: Yes, I can.

T: Let’s have a rope skipping competition! OK?

Ss: OK.

(3) Listen to the song “skipping” and ask some students to skip. Let’s see which group can win .You may get different animals.( 从这一环节引入比赛形式,各组分别代表不同动物进行竞赛,有monkey, rabbit, dog , cat最后看哪组能到达绳的最高点)

(4) Lead in the rhyme

T: Look at the monkey! He goes to take part in a rope competition to meet the Olympic Games.

Can the monkey skip?

Ss: Yes, it can. / No, it can’t.

T: Let’s see. (Listen to the rhyme twice, first listen ,and then listen and do some actions with me )

T: Can the monkey skip ?

Ss: Yes.

T: Yes, it can. But he is not good at it. He falls down and hurts his toe.

(5) Let’s say the rhyme sentence by sentence and do some actions.

(6) Let’s say the rhyme.(播旋律让学生say the rhyme)

(7) Change the words to say the rhyme. Let’s say it in groups.(put on the headgears)

Eg: T: Rabbit group , Rabbit, Rabbit,can you skip?

Ss:Yes.

T:Stand up!Say like this:

Rabbit’s playing with a rope,

Jumping high and jumping low.

One, two, three,four,five,six..Oh!

Falling down he hurts his toe!

(8) Ask four students to act as monkey,rabbit,dog and cat to have a skipping competition.

Step3: Extention

Watch some activities of the Olympic Games. Let’s talk something about Olympic Games by using “Can he /she …” “What can he/she do?” “He/She can…”

Step4:Summary

(1)Let’s see which group is the winner.

(2)T:Are you happy today?

Ss:Yes.

T:We know “Skipping,jumping and running are good for our health. It can make us strong.We can do it every day.Understand?

Ss:Yes.

T:Good bye,boys and girls!

Ss:Good bye !Miss Xu! (Sing the song “Good bye”)
