二、教学目标 1.能够初步听懂、会说、认读本课词汇。 2.能够围绕本课句型进行交际和表达。
三、教学重点 1 New words: hummingbird, centimeter, kilometer, strong, wing, giraffe, meter, ton, heavy 2 Structures: How tall is it? It’s …meters tall. How fast is it? How heavy is it? As…as…
四、教学难点: 1 New words: hummingbird, centimeter, kilometer, giraffe 2 用as…as…描述动物的某一特点
五、教学手段 1.教学录音磁带; 2.教学挂图; 3.学生和教师用单词卡片; 4.教师自制相关教具(如:自制课件、小奖品等)。
六、教学方法 情景教学法、听说法、直接教学法
七、教学步骤:
1.1)Show the cards to let the Ss read them: hummingbird centimeter giraffe meter kilometer strong wing ton heavy
2)to play a sorting game or play a guessing game
2. Show the pictures of Get Ready. Let the Ss read the words in pairs and talk about the animals in the class.
3. Let the Ss listen to the tape, and point to the pictures.
4. Let the Ss listen to the tape, and fill in the blanks.
5. Let the Ss check the answers in pairs.
6. Let the Ss listen to the tape, and check the answers in class. The teacher show the flash cards, the Ss read them.
7.practise: 1) show some cards of the words, let the Ss make sentences
2) say something about a kind of animal to make the students guess what it is.
8.Listen to Part (B) and talk about the animals (where is the whale from? How old is it? How tall is it ? how heavy is it? How fast is it? ……)
9.make a new dialogue with other animals
10.let the Ss show their small cards and describe them.(where, how old, how tall, how big, how fast)
11.Homework: copy the word and Write a short passage about an animal
