Dear Lily,
You must be surprised when you receive my letter, for we’ve been good friends for so long, so there is no need for us to write to each other. However, I would still like to express my thanks to you. In the past three years, what I remember the most clearly is a P.E. class when we were doing the 800-meter running exercise, During the exercise, I breathed(呼吸) so heavily that I hurt my throat. It seemed as if a fire was burning inside and I almost couldn’t take in air. At that moment, I was so scared that I thought I was going to die. My classmates were all completely shocked so no one was able to help me. However, you quickly carried me to the school doctor’s office. As soon as I lay down, you brought me a cup of hot water and stayed by my side to calm me down. I felt much better because of you.
What impressed me the most was not only the friendship between us, but the kindness of you which let me finally understand the true meaning of friendship. You truly care about others and you are always there to give a helping hand. These small actions can be put together and even make our world a better place.
