2018年中考英语试卷总分值从以往的120分调整为100分，其中60分为卷面考试成绩，40分为听说考试成绩。2017年12月23日和2018年3月24日分别进行两次听说考试。若考生第一次考试未能取得满分，可自愿参加第二次机考。两次机考，取最高成绩计入中考总成绩。

“学英语要会听、会说、会读和会写，之前可能更注重听和写，今后‘说’的比重会加大。”她建议考生，平日应尽量张嘴说英语，注意模仿课件发音，保证语音语调完整。答题不必单纯求快，语法、信息点和句子要力争完整准确。

Once upon a time long ago, there lived a farmer only three feet tall. He was so short that he needed a stool to stand on. This bothered him not a bit because although he was small he was very brave. In fact, in his heart he secretly longed to become a knight and win the hand of the Princess. The Princess was the King and Queen's only child and it should come as no surprise that the little farmer loved her very much for she was both kind and beautiful. She was even smaller than he, and had dancing eyes and beautiful long hair. But, the little farmer could admire the Princess only from afar because she was, after all, a princess and he but a poor farmer--not even that tall.
