Many people look for jobs every day. Some people think it’s hard to find a job. But do you have original ideas to look for a job?

22-year-old Bennett Olson is a smart young American man. He used a special way to get himself noticed when he was looking for a job. He spent 300 dollars buying some ad space near downtown Minneapolis and put his face on an electric advertisement board (广告牌). On the board, it said, “HIRE (雇用) ME!”

Bennett came up with this idea when he lost his job in March. Luckily, the idea worked. After a month’s looking for a job and several interviews, he found a job for sales and markets. Even though Bennett’s way might seem a little bit expensive, it was useful.

“You should do something special to make yourself stand out among so many people,” said Dr Steve Hine.

According to a recent study, employers (雇主) spend only about six seconds (秒) looking at a resume (简历) before deciding whether or not to hire the person. And it is hard for graduates to find a job in today’s job market. According to a survey, in 2011, nearly 54% of college graduates under the age of 25 didn’t find a job or have a good job.

One possible version:

Dear Tony,

I’m very sorry to hear that your school soccer team lost the match last week. So I am writing to cheer you up.

First, it is normal to lose a match. You either win or lose, you know. The most important thing is not to win, but to take part. Besides this, your team can also learn a lot from the experience. For example, you can find out what the team members don’t do well in. If the team practices harder than before, it will improve and win sooner or later.

Cheer up! I hope you will be happier soon.

Best wishes.

Yours sincerely,

Li Hua
