参考答案
第一部分 听力(共两节,满分30分)
附:听力录音材料:
Text 1
M: It's 11:30 in the evening, and I'm so hungry. Can I buy bread from the store now?
W: No. The store usually closes half an hour earlier.
Text 2
W: It's so hot today. I was going to wash the car and water the plants, but now I don't want to do anything.
M: I agree. You should have a rest. You'll feel uncomfortable with too much work.
Text 3
M: Did you see Tom today?
W: Yes. When I went to the bank this morning. We happened to meet outside the bank. He said he was going to the post office. Why ask?
M: I have something important to tell him. And I have been looking for him all day.
Text 4
W: I wish James would be here on time. This is the third time we have had to wait for him
M: Not surprising at all. That's James.
Text 5
M: Let's go into this shoe store. I need some shoes to match my new suit.
W: That's a good idea. I'm so tired from shopping that I'll be glad to sit down, but I don't need any shoes.
Text 6
M: My son has been two years old, and there are many ideas about whether I should let him brush his teeth. Can you give me some advice, Mrs. Green?
W: Start cleaning your baby’s teeth twice a day as soon as the first tooth appears. Until your child is 1 year old, you can use a wet washcloth to clean your baby’s teeth and gums. At about 1 year to 18 months of age, you should start using a soft tooth brush and a small bit of toothpaste that is fit for the children.
M: Thanks a lot! I should have asked you earlier for some advice about this problem.
Text 7
W: Alex, I’ll help Emma with her packing.
M: The packing? No, no. Don’t worry. We may have to change our plan.
W: Why?
M: We may not go to Scotland; we may go to Wales or England. We can decide after the weather forecast.
W: OK. Is it time to watch the forecast for tomorrow on TV?
M: Yes, listen. Northern Scotland will be cold, and there may be snow over high ground.
W: In the north of England it will be a wet day and rain will move into Wales during the afternoon.
M: Eastern England will be generally dry, and it will be a bright clear day with sunshine, but it may rain during the evening.
W: In the southwest of England it may be foggy during the morning, but the afternoon will be clear. It may be windy later in the day.
M: Now, where are we going?
W: It’s up to you.
Text 8
M: Are you going to have a holiday this year, Mrs. Young?
W: Yes, we are thinking of visiting my brother Fred, who is a farmer.
M: Farming's a very nice job, although farmers have to work hard. They have to get up at 5:00 in the morning.
W: Well, John, as a doctor, you're quite used to getting up in the night. Well, as a matter of fact, I have just received a letter from Fred. Will you please turn the light on? The daylight isn't good enough for reading.
M: OK.
W: Fred says here that his corn is ready for harvest. And he's thinking of buying some more fields next year.
M: Oh, he must be doing well.
W: Oh yes, I think he is. He's proud of having the largest farm in Kent.
M: I expect you're looking forward to seeing him.
W: Yes, we certainly are. And I shall have some outdoor exercises.
M: You know, when I was young, I was quite good at ploughing.
W: Last time I was at my brother's, I once tried my hand at milking a cow. The result was terrible! I'll never forget the look of pity on that cow's face!
Text 9
M: Hello, Miss, welcome to our shop. Can I show you our latest contract plans and free phones?
W: OK.I am thinking of signing up to a contract phone anyway.
M: Wonderful! We have a special offer this month. So, how much free call time are you looking for, Miss?
W: I don't really call that much. So, what is your lowest limit?
M: Well, our cheapest contract plan gives you 100 minutes of free calls each month, and that will cost you just £20 a month. However, if you choose the second cheapest, it will be £28 a month with 200 minutes.
W: I doubt if I can use all the 200 minutes. I text a lot, but I don’t call that much.
M: If that is the case, with our 200?minute plan, you can get 100 free text messages and unlimited Internet access for an extra £6 a month.
W: So, that’d add up to £34 a month.
M: Wow, you worked that out quick! How about this Sony Ericsson? It still comes with a color screen, MP3, FM radio, and 60 Mb built in memory.
W: I prefer the music player. I like listening to music when I am free.
Text 10
M: A person may have an idea about himself that will prevent him from doing good work. He may have the idea that he is not capable of it. A child may think he is stupid because he does not understand how to make the most of his mental faculties, or he may accept another person's mistaken estimate of his ability. Older people may be handicapped by the mistaken belief that they are incapable of learning anything new because of their age.
A person who believes that he is incapable will not make a real effort, because he feels that it would be useless. He won't go at a job with the confidence necessary for success. He is therefore likely to fail, and the failure will strengthen his belief in his incompetence. Alfred Adler, a famous doctor, had an experience which illustrates this. When he was a small boy he got off to a poor start in arithmetic(算术).His teacher got the idea that he had no ability in arithmetic, and told his parents what she thought in order that they would not expect too much of him. In this way, they too developed the idea, “Isn’t it too bad that Alfred can’t do arithmetic?” He accepted their mistaken estimate of his ability, felt that it was useless to try, and was very poor at arithmetic, just as they expected.
One day Adler succeeded in solving a problem which none of the other students had been able to solve. This gave him confidence. He rejected the idea that he couldn't do arithmetic and was determined to show them that he could. His newfound confidence stimulated him to go at arithmetic problems with a new spirit. He now worked with interest, determination and purpose, and he soon became extraordinary good at arithmetic.
This experience made him realize that many people have more ability than they think they have, and that lack of success is as often the result of lack of knowledge of how to apply one's ability, lack of confidence, and lack of determination as it is the result of lack of ability.

C篇

关键词在于前句指的had dropped sharply和后句指的less likely to join不难选出B项,其中的have replaced face with screen的信息,包括首次的that所指代的作用的体现。
C项中的doesn’t…having a lot of opinion和doing a lot of talking说明正是listen to others。
解题策略:关键在于要根据上下文的语境来找出串联的信息点,把握上下文之间的逻辑关系,通过前后意思的连贯性及细致、用心地答题,定能完成得很好。

One possible version:
Dear Sue,
I'm Li Hua, one of your students in China. It’s almost a month since you left us. We all miss you and are very grateful for what you did for us. We are busy as usual. We had an English speech contest the other day. I won the first prize! This again reminds me of all your kind help. Do you still remember the trees we planted together on the hill behind the school? Yesterday, we went there and watered them. The tree you planted yourself is growing well, and the whole class decided to name it Sue Wood. Will you come back to see Sue Wood?
How is everything with you lately? We hope to know more about you and your American students. Hope to keep in close touch.
All the best.
