Over the next 50 years, it will become hard to tell the difference between the human and the machine. All body parts will be replaceable. Computers will be able to recognize feelings and respond in a feeling way as the human brain does. They will then produce false people exactly like originals. We will then be able to create a machine duplicate of ourselves, so we will appear to be alive long after we are dead. We can also choose to live for as long as we want.
By 2070, once one of you is copied, you will just have to press control “D” and you will have two of you. If you want 500, select 500. Naturally, when duplicates are running around all over the place, there will be a food problem. Corrections will have to be made with how you eat. Your duplicates will have to combine vitamins with something we have in abundance(丰富). The most practical choice would be junk. Your corrected duplicate will be designed to eat junk like a goat. But don’t worry, your taste changes and sense of smell will be adapted, so you will really enjoy it. You will want to eat lots of junk. When it becomes possible to do a spirit move, they will figure out how to do them automatically. So you will be able to live within whichever duplicate you want, whenever you want and as long as you want.

Without proper planning, tourism can cause problems. For example, too many tourists can crowd public places that are also enjoyed by the inhabitants of a country. If tourists create too much traffic, the inhabitants become annoyed and unhappy. They begin to dislike tourists and to treat them impolitely. They forget how much tourism can help the country’s economy. It is important to think about the people of a destination country and how tourism affects them. Tourism should help a country keep the customs and beauty that attract tourists. Tourism should also advance the well-being (health and happiness) of local inhabitants.
Too much tourism can be a problem. If tourism grows too quickly people must leave other jobs to work in the tourism industry. This means that other parts of the country’s economy can suffer.
On the other hand, if there is not enough tourism, people can lose jobs. Businesses can also lose money. It costs a great deal of money to build large hotels, airports, air terminals, first-class roads and other support facilities needed by tourist attractions. For example, a major international-class tourism hotel can cost as much as 50 thousand dollars per room to build. If this room is not used most of the time, the owners of the hotel will lose money.
Building a hotel is just a beginning. There must be many support facilities as well, including roads to get to the hotel, electricity, sewers to handle waste, and water. All of these support facilities cost money. If they are not used because there are not enough tourists, jobs and money are lost.
56. Which of the following has most probably been discussed in the paragraph that goes before the passage?

A. use up large amount of water

Which is the best lifestyle in the young generation’s mind? Living in the city or staying in the country? According to researchers at Berkeley University, who conducted a survey of 324 students, the answers vary from person to person. The researchers collected some of the students’ opinions and also offered possible explanations for choices.
“ In the city, there are many things for us to do. We can go to the cinema if we like. There are so many cinemas and we have lots of choices. You can also meet many interesting people from all walks of life, and from many different countries. It is clear that most people agree with me because most people choose to live in cities.” said Chatman, a student who is studying computer science. And his opinion is shared by many people.
However, some others, on the other hand, hold another opinion. Malka is one of them. “ I would hate to leave the country and go to live in a crowded city. We have no factories to pollute the air. And there are fewer cars producing carbon monoxide fumes. Our food is fresh because we get our fruit, vegetables and meat from the local area nearby. Country kids could spend a lot of time outdoors and play with neighbours. I have a great life in the country and I like to live in the country forever.”

基础写作
With the popularity of the network, few people would like to go to the cinema. Some people think it’s convenient for them to see a movie on the Internet without spending money on tickets, and that they can replay the wonderful parts. However, downloading the movie will take time and sometimes the screen image is not so clear. Although some people prefer to see a movie in the cinema because they can see the latest movies in a sound atmosphere, they don’t like to wait in line to buy tickets, whose prices are too high.
In my opinion, when you enjoy the new technology, don’t forget the traditional spiritual food.
读写任务
A survey was done among a number of university students, which was about choosing to live in the city or in the country. And their opinions are different.
As far as I am concerned, I’d like to choose to live in the country instead of in the city. Living in the country is very comfortable. You can breathe more clean air, the environment of the country is quieter and more peaceful than that of the city. Moreover, people in the countryside are easy-going and friendly. Therefore, we can enjoy good relations and friendship with others. In addition to that, living in the country is a good way to get close to nature. With the beauty of flowers, the green of trees and the songs of birds around us, we can enjoy the pure pleasure from nature.
In a word, country life is natural and pleasant and I’d like to live there.
