教学过程：

一、巧设情境，引发讨论，精彩导入。

Task 1  Show some pictures and have a free talk with students (先在电子白扳上呈现图片，然后提问)

T: Do you remember this special day?  What happened on the day?

S: An earthquake happened in WenChuan.

T: Yes, We’ll never forget the day, what can you see in the pictures? (再次展示图片，然后提问，学生自由发言)

T: Great! From the pictures we can see that the earthquake caused great damage. Many people died and some were homeless, so we can say that the earthquake is a kind of disaster. So next we’ll talk about disasters.

利用图片导入，具有生动、形象、直观等特点，能吸引学生的注意力，激发学生的学习兴趣，以汶川地震作为热身话题，学生感到很熟悉很亲切，而且这一导入，内容比较简单，让基础差的学生也可参与，调动了课堂气氛。

二、学生交流互动，拓展话题。

Task 2 Discussion

此环节充分利用教材资源，让学生参考Pre-reading部分的图片，四人一组展开讨论交流，小组代表上台汇报，每个人在黑板上写下一个句子或短语，给勇于表现的学生提供机会，对每位学生的表现要予以表扬和鼓励，以增强学习的信心，呵护学生的探究热情。[设计说明]

本环节可以小组抢答的方式进行，小组成员每提供一条信息就给该小组加一分，以吸引学生主动参与语言实践活动。由于课前学生通过网络、图书馆等资源查阅了相关资料，对讨论的内容有了一定的了解，因此讨论时有话可说，可谓成竹在胸，课堂气氛活跃，充分调动了学生的积极性和主动性，并且通过对课前预习情况的展示和交流，可促进学生间的相互学习。

(随后教师利用多媒体展示相关图片，影像资料等作为补充，让学生更进一步了解地震自逃生自救知识。)

六、总结归纳，巩固所学。
