在句子和短文的搭配的考题中，细节题占绝大部分。所谓的细节题就是根据文章或者句子中的某一部分、某个短语、甚至是某个词就可以得出答案，而不需要从文章的整体上去把握、考虑。
细节题往往以两种形式出现：同义转述、举例说明。
同义转述
句子与文章的搭配题大多以“同义转述”的形式出现，即句子中的某个词组或者单词与文章中的某一部分(一句话、一个短语或一个单词)形式不一样，却表达相同的意思。
例如：

这些表达同样意思的词通常对解题十分重要，所以被称为“关键词”。这些关键词一般都是限定词。限定词是指在名词词组中对名词起特指、类指以及表示确定数量和非确定数量等限定作用的词类。这些限定词主要包括形容词、副词。有时候一些与解题有直接联系的名词、动词，也可以称为关键词。句子或者文章中有限定词的出现，标志着重要信息的显现。重视限定词的出现，可以迅速定位重要信息，从而有的放矢地进行查找和筛选。
句子和文章中都有关键词，但是句子简单、明了，所以句子中的关键词比较好确定。我们可以带着句子中的关键词到文章中找与之相互照应的、表达同样意思的词组、短语，从而确定搭配关系。这样可以节约时间。
举例说明
举例说明就是对一个比较抽象的事物用列举具体的例子的方法来解释、说明。在这里有两种情况：
句子对文章的举例说明。
句子对文章的举例说明就是在文章中出现某个抽象事物，在句子中列举出了具体的例子，来说明文章中的抽象事物，从而形成句子与文章之间的举例说明关系。
文章对句子的举例说明。
与句子对文章的举例说明正好相反，文章对句子的举例说明就是在句子中出现某个抽象事物，而在文章中给出了具体的例子用来解释、说明抽象事物，从而形成句子与文章之间的举例说明关系。
例如：
Secretarial support is available at no extra charge.
The Carlton Hall, conveniently situated just minutes from the motorway, is the ideal venue for your conference. Not only do we offer superb hospitality, but our fully equipped business center provides a complete typing and copying service, included in the conference fee. The restaurant also enjoys an excellent reputation, offering everything from a midday sandwich to a formal dinner.
在上面的一组搭配中，就出现了文章对句子的举例说明关系。在句子中出现了抽象事物“Secretarial support”，在文章中给出了具体的例子“typing and copying service”(打字复印的服务)。我们根据文章中出现的具体例子就很容易理解抽象事物“Secretarial support”的意思了。然而关键的问题是：既然文章中的例子是对句子中的抽象事物的解释说明，那么句子和文章之间就表达了相同的事物，则两者之间的搭配关系就顺理成章地形成了。
再例如：
Offer the other party incentives to agree to your fee.
When negotiating money, there may be non-financial factors you can throw into the mix. For example, why not say,” if you pay me such and such, I’ll include a report on the company for you ”. Plan these extras beforehand. Make sure that they won’t take forever to do, but are things of value to the other side. This way, you can achieve the ideal outcome: you appear to accept compromise when in fact you‘ve got everything you wanted, and they’ve got the better of the deal.
上面的一组搭配也是句子与文章之间的举例说明关系。文章中的“example”正好是如何“incentives other party to agree with you”的行为。

2. C 在C篇短文中，最后一句中的“special deals”意为折扣、回扣之类的优惠，也就是2中“Discounts”之意。这里考查考生是否能够灵活运用所掌握得语言知识，是否能用不同的句型、词汇、词组表达相同的意思。
3. A 在A 便短文中，第三行“Our reception desk is staffed round the clock, ready to deal with any calls”的意思是：我们的接待处是24小时服务，连续一整天都有值班人员处理电话事务。3 的意思是：这里在任何时间都有人值班。两者的意思是倚着的。本题主要考考查的是“round the clock”的意思。“round the clock”是一个固定词组，意为“昼夜不停、连续一整天、毫不疲倦地、不松劲地”，理解了这个词组的意思，这道题就迎刃而解了。

B 在B篇短文中，最后一句“We also guarantee to return your fee should you be disappointed with our service”的意思是：另外我们保证，如果你对我们的服务感到失望(不满意)，我们可以退还你的费用。这和7(中心乐于退款，如果客户不是十分地满意)是同样的意思。其中，B篇中的“return your fee”和 7中的“give a refund”是同样的意思，不同的表达。B篇中的“be disappointed”和7中的“is not completely satisfied”也相互照应，也是同样的意思，不同的表达。
