2、学生能正确朗读各类数字。

1、学生能能根据上下文，猜测wise, promise, prize, double, realize, challenge…to…等单词和短语的意思。

2、通过阅读主阅读篇章，学生能了解故事The king and the old man发生的前因后果。

教学过程：

Step 1 Lead in

1.学生观察教材第17页的卡通图，阅读Hi和Lo的对话，回答

下列问题。

● What’s in Lo’s right hand? (A calculator.)

● What’s in Hi’s hands? (A cat.)

● What question did Lo ask? (Can animals count?)

● What did Hi say? (He joked by saying his cat could count.)

学生了解单词calculator和count。

教师板书Numbers，告诉学生：We are going to learn numbers in this unit.。 这部分主要是引入话题，首先以图片来引起学生的兴趣，使用的是【电脑】上的【视频】上的卡通图。

Step 2 Brainstorm

教师提问：What do we use numbers for?，学生分小组讨论后交流答案。(Possible answers: We use numbers to tell time. / We use numbers to show the temperature. / We use numbers to show weight. …)

学生完成What do you know about…? 部分的练习。同时认读和理解单词gram。

教师讲解和指导学生朗读What do you know about…? 部分的数字。

Step 3 Pre-reading

Students look at the pictures, the title of the story and the first sentences of

paragraphs1 and 2，完成Before you read部分的练习。

学生再次阅读标题和观察插图，并通过回答下列问题对故事的内容进行预测。

● Who won the game, the king or the wise old man?

● What prize did the wise old man want, silver, gold or something

else?

● Would the king give him the prize he wanted?

● Why is the title “The king and the rice”?

这部分是让学生了解文章的大概内容，主要让学生运用了skimming的阅读技巧，引导学生从文章的题目、开头和图片来完成第一次的阅读任务。这部分使用了【电脑】上【windows office PPT】上面的图片播放，让学生学会观察图片来猜测文章内容，我觉得效果不错，也提高学生的快速阅读能力。
