A young student was walking in the desert and happened to find some clear water. He filled his leather canteen (皮革水壶) so he could bring some back to his teacher. After a four-day journey he presented the water to his teacher. The teacher took a long drink, smiled warmly and thanked his student for the water. Later, the teacher let another student taste the water. He spat it out and said it was awful. It was no longer fresh because it was in the old leather canteen for such a long time.
